Lidl Grocery Market (2019)

Retail design should do more than promote products — it should create moments of inspiration inside everyday routines. For Lidl US, the goal was to elevate seasonal storytelling across print and in-store environments while maintaining clarity, accessibility, and strong brand recognition at scale.

PROJECT RECAP

At Lidl US headquarters, I contributed to seasonal campaigns spanning holiday magazines, accordion mailers, in-store print, digital animations, and sustainability initiatives. These projects required balancing speed, volume, and brand consistency across hundreds of store locations.

Highlights included:

  • Fall Holiday accordion mailer

  • National holiday magazine

  • Weekly in-store digital animations

  • Checkout signage redesign

  • “Too Good to Waste” sustainability logo

Each deliverable needed to feel cohesive within Lidl’s global brand while resonating with U.S. customers.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Designer across print and digital environments.

  • Developed layout systems for seasonal magazine spreads under tight production timelines

  • Directed visual storytelling themes prior to final photography confirmation

  • Designed weekly After Effects animations for in-store digital signage

  • Built adaptable animation templates for team-wide use

  • Redesigned checkout signage promoting the MyLidl app

  • Created the “Too Good to Waste” initiative logo supporting sustainability efforts

I also advocated for incorporating motion into in-store signage to replace static imagery — increasing visual engagement across stores.

RESULTS

  • Rolled out creative across hundreds of Lidl US locations

  • Established reusable motion templates that streamlined weekly updates

  • Supported increased visibility for MyLidl app adoption
