Boutique Farm Stay at Mount Hood: Highland Farms

If you’re looking for accommodations while staying around or near Mount Hood National Forest, look no further than Highland Farms; a real farm with cows, chickens, goats, ducks, and a farm hand to introduce them all. Plus my itinerary for the best winter girls ski trip!

This property is tucked the forest, just 30 minutes from the ski resorts (Timberline and Ski Bowl). The entire property has 14 beds across a Lodge, Cottage, and Airstream — making it an amazing spot for a family reunion, girls ski trip, corporate offsite, elopement, or intimate wedding.

The cows or Coos as they say to reference this species of Scottish Highland cattle, are the highlight of the property. They are as cute as they look and better in person. During your stay you have access to farm fresh eggs and the opportunity to meet the whole barn crew.

They also had cedar tubs that were newly installed perfect for relaxing after a day snowboarding at Timberline. There’s a tub for the lodge aka the main house as well as a tub at the cottage.

I hosted a girls trip at Highland Farms in January — it couldn’t have been a better time to visit. Despite it being winter, the greenery on property was flourishing one of my favorite things about the pacific northwest. This boutique stay features multiple buildings for a variety of accommodations. We stayed in the Lodge, Cottage, and Camp (their airstream). Conveniently the lodge had plenty of games ready to go in the living room and we brought a few of our own. The kitchen was spacious and great for cooking! The lodge has a gas powered stove with the grittle toper, this made cooking and cleanup easy. Plenty of pots, pans, serving dishes, wine glasses, you name it! The rooms were super cozy and clean. I highly recommend staying at Highland Farms if you have the opportunity!
